Melaleuca, Tasmania

It was my birthday a few weeks ago and Alec told me that he had planned a special picnic the following weekend to celebrate. Little did I know this would mean climbing aboard a small aircraft (Par-Avion) and traversing the skies down to a special little corner of Tasmania known as Melaleuca. The only way to access this area of the earth is by air or sea.

The ride down was incredible, seeing the landscape from this angle had me repeatedly cracking my lense against the window eager capture the scenes. We arrived at a white airstrip, stretched the legs and climbed onto a little boat and headed into Bathurst Harbour. After an icy spin we climbed into a jetty and enjoyed a catered lunch at Clyde Clayton's historic digs, and made our way home through the mountains. Such an incredible experience!
